are three topics which are not often discussed and if so without
any enthusiasm. Overall, these are aspects which can take
the excitement out of our daily orthodontics. If such a subject
is evaluated comprehensively it can loose some of its horror.
Therefore this lecture will attempt to cover the etiology
of failures and relapses as well as to develop concepts to
interfere with their consequences.
